This is not a political endorsement.

  • "I’ve had the honor of serving alongside Heather Jones on several city committees, including currently as her Vice Chair on the Tega Cay Storm Water Committee.  Her leadership is marked by clarity, compassion, and an unwavering dedication to doing what’s best for the community — even when the path forward isn’t easy. Heather has stepped up to lead two important civic organizations, and in each role, has demonstrated exceptional initiative, thoughtful decision-making, and the ability to bring people together around a common purpose. Whether she’s advocating for sustainable infrastructure or helping shape the future of our city, Heather leads with both head and heart. I’m proud to work alongside her and deeply respect the care and dedication she brings to every role she takes on."

Tega Cay Storm Water Committee Vice Chair, Maureen Norcutt

  • "Heather Jones has made a big impact on our community despite just moving to Tega Cay two years ago. She immediately volunteered with the Tega Cay Elementary PTO, joined its board last year, and will be Co-President in the 2025-26 school year. At our city level, Heather actively attends council meetings, sharing constructive observations and suggestions, and heeding the call to serve on city committees: first, on the Tega Cay Forever Foundation where she was elected Chair and managed its dissolution; and now on our city's Stormwater Committee, recognizing that stormwater and sediment challenge our community and lake..."

Tega Cay Lions Club 2024 Citizen of the Year Semi-Finalist Nomination

  • "Heather is not the kind of person to sit on her hands! If she says she’s going to do it, she goes out and gets it done! Her interest in our community is genuine. She contributes with experience, consideration and kindness, and does it all without fanfare or a desire for recognition. It’s been such a pleasure working with her on our local Crafting group."

Meet Heather Jones

Hello, Tega Cay! Since moving here to be with family, I’ve jumped into community life - attending council meetings, serving on city committees and the PTO, joining the Tega Cay Lions, and enjoying all this city has to offer.

Tega Cay deserves leadership that listens and protects what makes “The Good Life” in our city so special. As your councilmember, I’ll bring a proactive, collaborative approach to:

  • Protect our status as one of the safest places to live in SC

  • Preserve our small-town charm and recreational amenities

  • Prosper economically as a city and financially as taxpayers

I believe Community is a verb and I would to love to hear how you want to see us Craft our Community, Together!

Tega Cay Lions Club 2024 Citizen of the Year Semi-Finalist Nomination:

“Congratulations to these Tega Cay residents for being nominated by their peers for their exceptional dedication and service to our community! The Lions are pleased to announce these semifinalists for the 2024 Citizen of the Year award:

Heather Jones has made a big impact on our community despite just moving to Tega Cay two years ago. She immediately volunteered with the Tega Cay Elementary PTO, joined its board last year, and will be Co-President in the 2025-26 school year. At our city level, Heather actively attends council meetings, sharing constructive observations and suggestions, and heeding the call to serve on city committees: first, on the Tega Cay Forever Foundation where she was elected Chair and managed its dissolution; and now on our city's Stormwater Committee, recognizing that stormwater and sediment challenge our community and lake. So residents can socialize and share their crafting projects in a relaxed, supportive environment, Heather started a Tega Cay Crafters social group which meets monthly at the Glennon Center. She now is founding a nonprofit to establish the first "Creative ReUse Center" in York County to bring affordable art supplies and increased arts programing access to the community by practicing sustainability and collaborating with community groups. Heather considers it a new family tradition to bake tasty, creative mini cakes with her children for the Lions' annual Senior Christmas Party. Similarly, Heather looks forward to her children joining her volunteering in Tega Cay as they get older. Mrs. Jones lives out her belief that 'community' is really a verb, and continues to demonstrate exceptional service.”
